Donna Karan To Hold Garage Sale. Seriously.

DonnakaranDonna Karan is cleaning out her closets and selling it all.
WWD reports that the designer will be holding the sale this March 14th and 15th at  the Stephan Weiss Studio at 711 Greenwich street near her Urban Zen store. The sale is set to include items from all her fashion collections as well as personal belongings she has gathered over the past 35 years. Prices will range from $20 to $2,000, and the proceeds will benefit Karan's Urban Zen Initiative which raises funds for wellness and health charities.
Apparently, Karan had become something of a hoarder,

"It was 35 years of collecting and shopping all over the world," Karan said, sifting through the racks. "Before I knew it, I was able to fill a warehouse. It just got out of control."

Yeesh!
While the merchandise has not yet been finalized, it is expected to include vintage Karan ready - to - wear as well as items worn by Barbara Streisand and items purchased as design inspiration. Depending on how it is promoted and organized, this event could either be a nightmare or the best tag sale ever. Either way, it is bound to be interesting.
