Steve & Barry's Next Designer: Your TV

Spock Who the hell even knew what Steve & Barry's was a year ago?
A lot has changed since then as the burgeoning mass-market retailer has transformed its image with licensed collections from Stephon Marbury, Amanda Bynes, Venus Williams and, most importantly, Sarah Jessica Parker. For its next project, the retailer has joined forces with an entire television network. Steve & Barry's has signed an exclusive agreement with CBS Consumer Products to market apparel featuring imagery from its library of TV shows. This includes classic shows like "Happy Days," "The Brady Bunch," "The Love Boat" and "Beverly Hills 90210" among others.
Is it going to be the "Nick at Night" store? Sounds like it. Now that they have broadened their scope to attract a whole new customer base, he store is looking back to its roots in campy printed t-shirts. Already a huge source for tees featuring college logos and Marvel Superheroes, Steve & Barry's is bolstering it's core male customer base before it becomes too well known as the home of inexpensive girly fashions.
Whatever develops form the partership, Steve & Barry's has become a retailer to watch in the past 12 months, and they aren't even selling on line yet!

I checked out a Steve & Barry's recently and it was beyond uninspiring--they had a whole section of jokey T-shirts along the lines of what you see in those various shops in the Village or near Times Square with sarcastic/crude sayings or nostalgic logos on them, plus a whole bunch of sports team memorabilia. Even my mother, whose favorite stores include JC Penney, Old Navy, and Kohl's, thought the merchandise was cheap and boring.
