Marc Jacobs to Step Off Bleecker Street

Photo: RACKED
Our friends at RACKED have all but confirmed that Marc Jacobs will be taking the corner of West 4th & Bank streets in the West Village. Of course, this news has been met with the usual hand wringing and fist shaking, but the current occupant, Jason Croy Salon, will be relocating, and reportedly Marc will be moving in with little if any renovation.
We certainly can't fault his taste. It's a lovely corner with elegant windows on a block that's much more residential than Bleecker Street. It's fairly quiet and out of the way, and one question is whether Marc can effect the dramatic sort of change that happened to Bleecker in thisquiet pocket of the Village. What's going in? Who knows. Possibly it will house Jacobs' growing home collections, or perhaps he will shuffle his shops on Bleecker once again to return his men's store to a more appropriately sized space.
We will be watching closely, and of course, if anyone over at Marc Jacobs wants to definitively confirm what's going on, well, you know where to find us.
