Disturbing Runway Trend: Dolce & Gabbana's Spaceman Chic

We remember when Dolce & Gabbana's men's show set the tone for the season, featuring clothes that could walk right off the runway, but we wonder if those days will ever return for the still hugely popular design duo. What can one say when in a show of a whopping 75 exits (60 is usually the upper limit, and for men's, it's usually around 45) six of them were full-on spacesuits in various shiny shades. While the rest of the show was a series of Dolce classics repeated in groups of metallic colors (motorcycle jackets, trim blazers first in silver, then gold, then bronze and narrow jeans, this time in a dark, dry wash), what are we to make of six spacesuits when one is more than enough? What exactly is this kind of costume pageant supposed to do for menswear?

debase it to the level of women's fashion? Most women's fashion is unwearable. What a criminal waste of fabric.
