Disturbing Runway Trend: Burberry's Giant Fur Hands

BighandsWe thought we would have to wait a couple of days to make fun of the Milan men's collections for Fall 2007, but look, we got it out of the first show we looked at! Of course, we are not in Milan, but we are following developments as best we can through the magic of the interwebs, or the nets, or whatever they are called. This is the sort of thing that makes The Shophound ask, "Why don't you just let the clothes be themselves? Why must you trick them out with all sorts of absurdities just to make them interesting?" And even more Bighands2_1 surprising was that we found this delightful styling idea at Burberry Prorsum of all places, the home of the classic trenchcoat. What does this clownish look of giant fur mittens say? I have very, very poor circulation. I am afraid of frostbite. I wish I were a muppet. We couldn't imagine that this look could be more ridiculous, but then we saw them paired with an open coat belted just below chest level. And people say men's fashion shows are boring...
