Disturbing Developments: Von Dutch Opens on Spring Street
Von Dutch has opened their doors, and the world has not stopped spinning, but Spring Street is no more interesting because of it. As we mentioned before, we couldn't be more over Von Dutch. It just makes us think of Paris Hilton in a trucker hat on a bender in L.A. Could we put any more tired things in one sentence?
They have rushed to get the place open for the holidays. In fact, the store is not completely finished. Naturally we are greeted with the latest in trucker hats, which are now made in a more colorful mode reminiscent of Ed Hardy who is brought to you by the same people. What a coincidence! Regular readers will remember just how underwhelming we found their New York debut.
As for the rest of the store's contents, they include jeans, plenty of t-shirts and a new line of sunglasses, all festooned with logos, none particularly original or interesting. It's that L.A. biker/rocker look that we have been seeing for years now, with no new twists to refresh its appeal.
What can we say? If you feel like dressing in the height of trend for 2002, then your lucky day has arrived!
