We reported earlier this year that London's TopShop, a High Street favourite, was looking for a New York location to launch its American division. Since then, a wrench has beeen thrown in those plans by Nevada Apparel Corp., a New York based company that claimed U.S. rights to the name. This week, the suit was settled, and TopShop is on its way back to these shores, but New York may no longer be their first stop. "There are points for and against," company chief Philip Green says. "New York has an element
of safety but some experienced US retailers tell me it isn't a good
proving ground for the rest of the US." What do they know? What a bunch of chickens. If you can make it here....

Fashion Designer, Talk Show Host and Celebrity Groper* Isaac Mizrahi is not content with all these jobs, and has started his own magazine, Isaac's Stylebook, which will be available at a few select shops around town as well as through its website. We will withhold judgment until we see a copy, but we wonder how he has the time for all these endeavors. We have so much important television to watch, we can barely get this blog out. We want whatever he's on.
*This could mean celebrity who gropes or one who gropes celebrities, but in Isaac's case, it means both!

Childlike Aussie modeling sensation Gemma Ward will make her acting debut opposite Liv Tyler in a new thriller, "The Strangers". Ironically, Ward will be playing a masked intruder terrorizing a couple. This is a good move on Ward's part, as the fashion world seems to be moving back to teenage models that look like actual grownups, thus ending a period of disturbing, Lolita-esque fashion spreads.
