We would have expected that the one story building would have been demolished to make way for something taller that took better advantage of the valuable real estate, but what do we know? Tarina Tarantino is opening a store on Greene Street below Prince, right between Anya Hindmarch and Face Stockholm. Tarantino is known for her shocking pink hair and well-priced hyper-girly wares festooned with crystals. Expect a blindingly sparkly shop.
And back up on Madison Avenue, Buccellati's former home on the corner of 65th street will be taken by the extravagant Parisian shoe designer Roger Vivier. The folks behind Tod's are responsible for reviving the label of the legendary haute chausseur who would have made Manolo Blahnik look like Dr. Scholl. Get ready for a major new destination for New York's shoe-obsessed.
